28 januari, 18:00 – Resisting complacency: Abortion access in Europe

Join us for an evening with Mara Clarke, co-founder of Supporting Abortions for Everyone – SAFE, who will share her experience of helping people failed by states and healthcare systems to get the abortions they want or need. Come learn the difference between abortion that is legal and abortion that is accessible, and why complacency is our enemy.

Mara will be joined by activist and academic Charlotte Waltz who will chime in with additional info and speak about the Vrije Keuze Coalitie and their work on decriminalising abortion in the Netherlands.

Come along for an inspiring conversation about radical compassion, active solidarity, and community care.

The talk will last for about an hour, there will also be some food afterwards, so feel free to stay for a bite.

This event is hosted by SocTalk, a junior staff initiative within the Department of Public Administration and Sociology at Erasmus University Rotterdam. The collective organizes workshops and courses both inside and outside the university. SocTalk aims to foster a culture of care that critically engages with institutional structures, while redistributing and collectivizing resources to support communities and initiatives in the city of Rotterdam.
